Data Collection Methodology
Some notes about our data collection.
RSSAC-002
RSSAC-002 provides public, operationally relevant information about our root server operations.
Our RSSAC-002 statistics are known to sometimes be slightly under their actual values. They are complete on normal days, but they undercount during burst periods, such as during a denial-of-service attack.
As of 2016-06-13 we have been generating RSSAC-002v3-format data.
We publish RSSAC-002 data two days after collection completes.
Days are midnight-to-midnight, UTC timezone.
B-Root’s RSSAC-002 data is distributed under the terms of CC-BY-4.0 (please see the full legal terms).
